We Are Looking to Add a Key Member to Human Resources Team!

The Learning & Development Leader will proactively lead the strategy, evolution, and management of Learning and development systems and processes that provide effective career and professional development for all GreatAmerica team members.  They will serve as an expert facilitator of learning content through multiple means and methods (engaging workshop content to new methods such as video, mentoring, job aids, etc.) – evolving our approach to meet the organization’s needs, drive engagement, increase retention and live out our principle of “We create opportunities for growth and take charge of our future”.

As a Learning & Development Leader, You’ll:

  • Set the Learning and Development strategy in alignment with organizational goals and culture to create tangible outcomes that develop our team members, skills and organizational competencies
  • Proactively understand learning trends, apply best practice and new techniques to GreatAmerica’s learning approaches – ensuring we are current in our methods and delivery models
  • Serve as an expert facilitator of learning content through exceptional content design and delivery acumen - through a variety of engagement methods (video, classroom, mentoring, short courses etc.)
  • Lead the effort to implement a Learning Management System (LMS) and associated processes to drive successful outcomes
  • Own the learning journey and experience of our New Team Members
  • Ensure content is fresh, accurate, and culturally/strategically aligned throughout all learning programs including GreatAmerica University
  • Create and monitor development metrics to ensure we are achieving our goals and creating tangible outcomes
  • Oversee the company’s tuition assistance program
  • Execute, coordinate, and evolve the New Leader Development experience
  • Oversee the administration of learning & development activities includes overseeing the scheduling of courses, instructors, and rooms, managing the communication and registration process, and maintaining training records
  • Provide leadership to the L&D Coordinator


To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree (is required)
  • A minimum of three years of experience developing, delivering, and administering learning
  • Superior organizational skills and a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to think strategically and drive outcomes through tactical execution
  • Passion for learning and willingness to invest in skillset to constantly grow our organization’s ability to invest in our team members
