Digital Technology - Salesforce Administrator (Cedar Rapids, IA)
  

This position is responsible for configuring, managing, optimizing and cultivating best practices for GreatAmerica’s Salesforce platform and applications.

As a member of the Salesforce Center of Excellence, this role will be expected to ensure GreatAmerica leverages Salesforce as a key platform for many of its business processes.  He/She will be an owner of the platform, meaning he/she will understand the capabilities of the software, understand the business and connect the necessary dots to achieve business goals. The activities include but not limited to understanding, configuring Salesforce as well as doing declarative programming.

Essential Functions

  • Take all perspectives into account for existing Salesforce platform and environments of GreatAmerica

  • Implement solutions and reusable assets in Salesforce Clouds through configuration, declarative programming and basic Apex programming to meet the solution design, Salesforce best practice and architectural standards.

  • Work with cross-functional teams, including product teams, to understand implications to the Salesforce platform, environments and applications architecture.

  • Provide documentation, training, consulting and insights on Salesforce best practices, trends and upcoming features to GreatAmerica teams

  • Configure objects, custom objects, page layouts and fields using Salesforce best practices

  • Work with advanced formula, validation, picklist and declarative programming such as Flows

  • Have hands-on experience in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Experience Cloud

  • Implement security and access provisioning

  • Evaluation and installation of new Salesforce releases

  • Manage Sandbox environments

  • Provide day-to-day operational administration on Salesforce platform, environments and applications; activities include but not limited to upgrades, health and stability maintenance, performance tuning, managing users, cleansing and auditing data, monitoring events and taking appropriate actions, managing advanced security, optimizing the usage of the platform, environments and applications, deploying Apex codes, build complex reports, dashboards, process automation, workflows and other admin capabilities

  • Proficient in troubleshooting applications and data issues

  • Optimize and extend features in the existing Salesforce environments

  • Help with research and prototyping of new features available in Salesforce

  • Have intermediate understanding of Salesforce APIs and SOQL

  • Work with Salesforce AppExchange apps, connectors and other managed package solutions

  • Respond to phone calls and email requests for technical support as needed

  • Manage work within ServiceNow by entering time and relevant notes

  •  Prioritize and complete tasks to meet customer SLAs

  •  Administer Salesforce licenses and usage

  •  Lives the GreatAmerica principles; involved in cross functional team efforts as required and assigned.

  • Read communication styles of customers, project team, and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines and tailor communication to fit.

  • Facilitate relations between business groups and technology teams.

  • Candidates must possess the exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with internal& external resources, clients, and third parties.

  • Candidates can be relied upon to manage key relationships with internal & external resources, clients, and third parties.

  • Work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and excels at communicating shifts in prioritization.

  • Willing and be able to travel to conferences, training and other skill development opportunities

  • Extended hours may be required to meet deadlines

  • Performs additional duties as required

Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Information Systems or equivalent. Salesforce Admin certification preferred.         

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical work with Salesforce platform experience required. Experience in consultative approach to both technical and business audience. Experience communicating applications solutions and strategies as well as implications to both technical and non-technical teams, as well as leadership. Require deep analytical understanding of Salesforce. Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, data modeling and cloud-based environments. Agile approach experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Expert knowledge of MS Office products and Design & Development best practices preferred
