About the Role

The Vice President, Sales & Marketing – Healthcare Division is a senior level leader within the Specialty Markets Group, providing strategic leadership to the Healthcare division.  The individual will work closely with the Senior VP & GM, to establish/implement the vision, market segments, sales & marketing strategies, culture, and execution of the healthcare business unit.   Sales and marketing activity will be generated through manufacturers, distributor, and dealer relationships. GreatAmerica & Specialty Markets Group Mission, Vision, Business Concept, Principles and the GreatAmerica Experience will guide the VP Sales & Marketing. 

The VP Sales & Marketing will focus on the following priorities:

  • Assessing and Developing Individual Skills
  • Establishing or Re-establishing the Right Relationships
  • Strategic Prospect and Existing Account Development

Essential Functions

  • Hires, develops, mentors and manages sales professionals for optimal performance and growth
  • Directs and coordinates activities of sales professionals to ensure individual and team growth/development and the attainment of goals and objectives with the specific markets
  • Analyzes sales, marketing, and operational activates to determine functional progress toward stated goals and objectives
  • Conducts up to four team sales meetings/year
  • Leads the development of our market approach and business strategy to ensure GreatAmerica is a premier player and innovation leader in the market
  • Develops long range goals and objectives for the market
  • Develop annual sales volume budgets and profitability targets for the unit, teams, and individual sales professionals
  • Actively participates in the strategic and tactical development of relationships (existing and new) supported by the three-legged stool of Customer Loyalty: Operational Excellence, Tangible Value, and Personal Relationships – to ensure GreatAmerica is the primary financial services provider for our accounts
  • Develops a deep understanding of our customers and end users in the industry and effectively translates this expertise into strategies for success and growth
  • Develop and maintain GreatAmerica’s strong industry presence in a specific market and serve as the “face” of GreatAmerica
  • Proactively ensures GreatAmerica has multi-layer relationships with our most strategic relationships
  • Analyzes the effectiveness of existing sales and marketing programs, processes and systems, and leads related improvement initiatives
  • Participates in formulating and administering sales related compensation and policies
  • Monitors industry trends, and identifies opportunities for unique value-added solutions which provides market differentiation for GreatAmerica and our customers
  • Active promotor and caretaker of GreatAmerica’s brand and reputation in the markets
  • Conducts market research, develops new products, oversee promotional activities and negotiates major finance programs
  • Extensive travel for customer account development, trade shows, and GreatAmerica corporate leadership meetings.
  • Uses Salesforce, with detailed documentation of activities with all relevant intelligence recorded appropriately
  • Leverage Strategic Solutions Group when and where applicable (Collabrance/Pathshare)
  • Live the GreatAmerica Principles and delivers the GreatAmerica Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, management, finance

Experience: Minimum 7 years consultative vendor direct sales experience and documented historical success in prior roles.  Equipment financing/leasing experience preferred.
