About this position:

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as an Accounting Manager!  You will be responsible for ensuring that generally accepted accounting principles are followed in the preparation and presentation of financial reports.  Strong leadership skills will be an important skill required to develop and grow our accounting team members.  As the liaison between the Finance and Accounting teams, you will work to ensure that finance initiatives are well aligned with the accounting initiatives and processes.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and review financial statement analysis prepared by the Accounting Team to ensure financial statements are accurate.
  • Assist with annual budget process.
  • Responsible for helping to develop and ensuring key strategic initiatives are completed in a timely manner.
  • Serve as primary point of contact with external auditors and manage the annual financial statement audit.
  • Performs research and provides recommendations on new initiatives and projects occurring throughout GreatAmerica.
  • Serve as a partner to other areas of the Company, providing accounting and financial support, allowing them to make good financial decisions.
  • Review work of Accounting Team members as needed.
  • Analyzes, researches and concludes on new and proposed accounting, reporting and disclosure standards issued by the FASB and prepare memorandums regarding the Company’s position and impact on the Company.
  • Serve as primary liaison for general ledger, financial reporting and other software vendors.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects as necessary.
  • Work closely with other areas of Finance to ensure reconciliations are being done timely and properly.
  • Responsible for hiring and development of Accounting Team members.
  • Provide an outstanding GreatAmerica experience to all customers.
Position Qualifications

Education, experience and skills required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with CPA designation is required. 8-10 years of relevant experience is required, and public accounting experience is beneficial.  Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications is required.
