Tax Support Specialist (Cedar Rapids, IA)
Position Summary

Position Summary:  

The Tax Support Specialist I is responsible for providing an outstanding GreatAmerica Experience to all customers by delivering excellent customer service.  This role is also responsible for providing administrative support for the entire tax team.


Duties and Responsibilities:    

  • Accountable for prompt and effective tax team email processing.
  • Administer recurring tax quality control procedures, including but not limited to report generation and correction.
  • Identify exempt customers using established matrix; reapply payments as needed with assistance.
  • Investigate and resolve tax coding errors and resolve with assistance.
  • Exhibit ability to question inconsistencies when reviewing current processes.
  • Accurately and promptly distribute incoming tax mail.
  • Grasp lease type concepts to answer compliance questions.
  • Navigate within software applications to provide tax team ad-hoc project and ongoing compliance support.
  • Accurately complete and supply resale certificates to our vendors.
  • Image various tax compliance documents to electronic file cabinet.
  • Provide outstanding GreatAmerica Experience for external as well internal customers.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.  Two year accounting degree preferred but not required.


Experience: Prior leasing and/or tax experience helpful but not required.


Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office products primarily Word and Excel.  General experience with sales tax or property tax software preferred but not required.
