Director, Business Development (Cedar Rapids, IA or Colorado)
Position Summary

Position Summary


Accountable for originating and closing volume of vendor sales financing programs and for supporting the development and implementation of vendor account strategies aimed at increasing sales volume for GreatAmerica.


Essential Functions


  • Responsible for developing and delivering successful strategies to maximize dealers’ sales growth.
  • Successfully utilizes Professional Selling Skills training to enhance overall sales volume.
  • Prospects potential vendors in territory by performing research to identify viable sales opportunities.
  • Calls on new vendor accounts to determine vendor’s business needs and present GALC leasing solutions.
  • Develops strategies and programs to increase sales and lease volume for GALC.
  • Determines if existing vendor base is capable of a significantly higher level of business and then works to more deeply penetrate this base.
  • Trains vendor sales personnel on the documentation requirements and credit policies necessary to generate transactions.
  • Maintains an average daily call goal of at least 25 originating calls.
  • Develops and maintain ongoing improvement of a sales plan.
  • Provides coaching to Vendor Relationship Managers and team members.
  • Ensures delivery of a quality portfolio as measured by volume, delinquency, yield, etc.
  • Is in attendance during business hours with minimal absences per GreatAmerica’s attendance policy.Attendance includes participation in some out of town work that requires nights and weekends.
  • Lives the GreatAmerica principles; involved in cross functional team efforts as required and assigned.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as required.
Position Qualifications


Education, experience and skills required

For this position you must have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of sales experience is preferred. We are seeking an individual with exceptional organizational, analytical and follow-through skills.  As a Director, Business Development excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
You must possess strong business acumen and judgment to make appropriate decisions as well as strong negotiation and follow through skills.  Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and is preferred.  Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem solving skills are required.

The sales territory will cover Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.  Our preference is to fill this position in our corporate office of Cedar Rapids, IA or candidates with strong credentials have the ability to work from home within the territory location (OH, IN,MI).
