Talent Acquisition Leader (Cedar Rapids, IA)
  
Position Summary

This position provides strategic leadership to all aspects of our Talent Acquisition process, including employment branding, position advertising, candidate sourcing, employment testing, interviewing and assessments, background checks, and offers.   This position is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of all aspects of our Talent Acquisition process, making improvements as needed to best meet the current and future talent needs of the company, and adapting our processes to better align with current technology, contemporary job search strategies, and evolving candidate needs and preferences.  Ultimately ensuring that GreatAmerica effectively and efficiently locates, attracts and hires the talent needed to meet our current and anticipated future business needs is the principle accountability of this position.

 

Essential Functions

-Develops and executes strategies to further promote community awareness of the GreatAmerica employment brand and employee value proposition, clearly establishing GreatAmerica as an Employer of Choice in the communities' form which we recruit.

-Develops and maintains a strong college relations strategy which includes targeting specific degree programs from which we recruit, and establishing strong connections between various GreatAmerica leaders and team members and key faculty, staff and student organizations associated with those degree programs.

-Develops and leads the implementation of efforts to proactively recruit passive candidates through targeted sourcing and recruiting methods, employee referrals, etc.

-Coordinates initiatives to engage GreatAmerica leaders as active “talent recruiters,” ensuring GreatAmerica is appropriately engaged with key community groups, professional associations, etc., and educating and coaching leaders on networking, employment branding, and passive candidate recruiting techniques.

-Evaluates all elements of GreatAmerica’s sourcing, advertising and recruiting processes to identify and implement needed improvements to ensure we are capable of meeting the organization’s current and anticipated future talent needs.

-Establishes, maintains, and monitors appropriate metrics to gauge the overall effectiveness and efficiency of all aspects of our recruiting process, and uses this information to inform process improvements as appropriate.

-Recommends, implements and/or optimizes tools, technologies and systems to enable effective and efficient Talent Acquisition processes (e.g. ATS, CRM system, Mobile applications, assessment instruments, etc.)

-Develops employment related marketing content and materials, in collaboration with the marketing team as appropriate.

-Coordinates appropriate GreatAmerica representation at recruiting events, and personally attends when appropriate.

-Participates in all aspects of our sourcing and recruiting process as needed, and personally leads especially challenging recruiting efforts; engages outside recruiting resources as needed.

-Effectively represents GreatAmerica as an Employer of Choice with current and prospective candidates and referral sources.

-Maintains regular on-site attendance, and attends networking and recruiting events outside of normal working hours as needed.

-Consistently demonstrates behavior consistent with the GreatAmerica Principles, and delivers The GreatAmerica Experience to internal customers, candidates, and other business associates.

Education: A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Marketing, Business Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.  PHR or SPHR Certification is preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of directly related experience required.  Leadership-level Talent Acquisition experience, and experience with employment branding, are highly desirable. 

Skills and Abilities 

Computer Skills: Use of basic office software programs.  Use of internet for research and social media recruiting.            

Other Requirements: Knowledge, skills and experience using a variety of sourcing strategies is essential.
